Literacy News - Juliari Peter Batubara (JPB) immediately resigned as Minister of Social Affairs from the cabinet after being named as a suspect and detained by the KPK. He is suspected of being involved in a corruption case in the form of receiving social assistance related to Covid-19 social assistance for the Greater Jakarta area in 2020.
"Yes, yes I will make a letter of resignation," he said, at the KPK Building, Jakarta, Sunday, December 6, 2020, before entering the KPK prisoner's car, as quoted from Antara.
Juliari said he will follow the legal process he is currently facing. "I follow the process first yes. Please pray, guys," he said.

KPK has detained Juliari along with the Commitment Making Officer (PPK) at the Ministry of Social Affairs, Adi Wahyono (AW). Both were detained for the first 20 days from December 6, 2020 to December 25, 2020.
Juliari was detained at the KPK Branch Detention Center at the Kodam Jaya Military Police Detachment Command Headquarters, Guntur area, Jakarta. Meanwhile, suspect Wahyono is being held at the Central Jakarta Police Detention Center.
Juliari was named as a suspected recipient of bribes along with two PPK in the Ministry of Social Affairs namely Matheus Joko Santoso (MJS) and Wahyono. The givers are Ardian I M and Harry Sidabuke from the private sector.

Three other suspects have been detained from December 5, 2020 to December 24, 2020.
Santoso was detained by Rutan Branch of KPK at KPK Jakarta White House, Ardian in Mako Detachment of Kodam Jaya Military Police, and Harry in Rutan Branch of KPK in ACLC Building.
